Life
is like a road trip. You have to fuel up on information before you
drive off into the future. But first, you have to get your license.
Education is your license to drive towards a promising future.
You might
be wondering about how to organise your HSC program. You can include
a Vocational Education and
Training (VET) course as part of your HSC study.
You have
the options of going for a VET course delivered
by your school, TAFE
NSW, private training
providers or as part of a workplace
training agreement.
It all depends on where you are studying and which course interests
you.
Find
out more about which vocational
areas are covered by HSC Vocational Education and Training
(VET) part time school-based traineeships.
Perhaps
you want to expand your horizon and try something new. You can combine
study with part time workplace
apprenticeships and traineeships. TAFE NSW offers a range
of new
apprenticeship options and VET
traineeships.
If you
taken a break from study for a while and now you want to get some
qualifications to give yourself more options about re-entering the
workforce and education. The Tertiary Preparation Certificate is a
flexible way to return to study after a break - find out more in the
TAFE
NSW Handbook.

School Certificate and Tertiary Preparation Programs in NSW 2003 booklet.
You can combine part time and full time work with education options,
no matter what your age or background. TAFE NSW offers distance and
flexible learning options through OTEN-DE,
the Open Training and Education Network-Distance Education. You can
study on-line and at your own pace, and still enjoy the support of
TAFE teachers and student services.
TAFE
NSW makes sure that you can get recognition for any prior learning
or experience that you have gained through employment and education.
This means that you can apply for credit towards your new course,
based on work and study you have done in the past. Check out the facts
in the TAFE
NSW Handbook.
If you
are already studying at TAFE NSW, you can get credit for your studies
when you begin university. You need to get the details from your university.
Ask them about their policy on recognition for prior learning and
experience.
If you
feel freaked out about it all, there are some basic things you can
do to make the situation easier.
